Wynton’s Practice Tips

Wynton Marsalis is the music director and lead trumpet player of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. I’ve personally had the privilege of meeting him several times, but I first met him when I was 15 years old. Our jazz band was selected to perform in the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival held in New York City on the stage at Lincoln Center. Meeting him forever changed my life!

Although Wynton is an outstanding jazz AND classical performer, he also composes and teaches. He is keen to educate and inspire the future generations that will keep our musical heritage alive!
